Pedaling is one of those things that pop up in our minds when we think of our childhood. And as we grow up we forget the fun we had. It becomes our dream then to catch up on all those childhood memories of cycling around. And it has other benefits as well – buying a bicycle cuts you the fuel cost if used regularly, it’s environmentally friendly, keeps you in shape, you can enjoy your surroundings at your pace and many other things.

So if you are interested in getting a bicycle but don’t know where to start,  here are 3 things to consider before buying a bicycle  –

1. What type of a rider are you?

So, this is the basic thing you have to decide before buying a bicycle. Whether you will use it for leisure, getting fit, commuting, touring, racing, off roads or something else. There are different models for different users. So decide and then narrow down your spectrum of which bicycle do you want.

2. What is your budget?

Bicycles cost vary as per the quality, size, shape, and form so if you have the budget it will help you choose the best bike that fits your requirements as well as your budget.

3. Is my level of fitness a consideration?

Body shape size, size, weight, how long since you have last pedaled and your overall health may affect the type of bicycle that is best suited for you.

Bicycling is fun, you relive your childhood memories, you become fit, you save fuel hence you save the environment. My best days in school is when my friends and I would go bicycling to school chit chatting, giggling, having loads of fun, eating etc I miss those days.

And even if you are on the page and want to relive those memories go get yourself a bicycle. Or if you are someone who never had a bike you are missing out on a lot of fun. Gift yourself a bike. And as a child, the bicycle race among friends, cycling the whole day around your house all these and another zillion memories come to my mind when I write this article.

Bicycles are freedom,  they provide you with exercise, transportation, and meditation all at once. Whether it is to boost your fitness, health or bank balance, or as an environmental choice taking up cycling could be one of the best decision you could make. Not convinced?

These are the benefits of regular cycling:

1. Increased cardiovascular fitness.
2. Increased muscle strength and flexibility.
3. Improved joint mobility.
4. Decreased stress levels.
5. Strengthens bones.
6. Improves posture and coordination.
7. Prevention of management diseases.
8. Reduces anxiety and depression.

Riding a bike is healthy, fun and a low impact form of exercise for every age group. So go ahead and hop on your cycle and start.

Until then!
